During our weekend in Sardegna he learnt that his next six months were going to be extremely busy. So, before it would get all crazy and weekendless we thought we'd take another trip. We thought Paris or Prague. We thought, we'd decide later, he went off to Rimini and flew back to California.

Three days later he called me and said, I am in Venice and it's a magnificent place. I've already booked your tickets.. Sorry, I didn't even ask you before. And a week later I was in Venice with him.

My mom took this shot during our stay in Vatican and Rome in June, 2008. We spent a week together in Florence and Rome, where we've celebrated her birthday. This trip was everything about Michelangelo, I was finishing his biography by Karel Schultz (Kamen a Bolest) on the flight to Italy...

There isn't much traveling about these particular socks, but I got similar pair in black and white for a girl in Montreal, whom I met through LJ and whom I admire a lot. I left a comment in her LJ telling that I bought "the-mindblowing-socks" for her and asked for the address so that I could send them to her.

She gave me her addres, but I misplaced the socks and couldn't find them for the life of me.. The Macy's where I got them didn't carry them either.. So embarrassing. I had to send her a pair of socks I brought from Italy. They were not mindblowing, they were somewhat elegant and ok. Right after I mailed the package, I've found the damn thing in some shoebox..

In May 2008 we flew to Catalina Island for the Art Deco Ball at Avalon.

The dress I wore there has an interesting story. I got as a gift from a girl whom I only knew online. We made friends in one online community and at some point she sent me this dress without ever seeing me (that was before the digital pictures became so ubiquituos). It fit me perfectly..

We took this picture of the Catalina Island from our plane and made it into the scrapbook for the large posting for my wordy Russian blog.

In Summer 2008 we went to Italy twice. First time we went to Sardegna. We arrived to Italy separately. I spent a week with my mom, visiting Florence and Rome and as I was seeing her off at Fiumicino he arrived to the same airport to spend a week with his family in Rimini. And in between our family reunions we had a wonderful weekend in Sardegna together. During this weekend in Sardegna we learnt that his new start-up got funded.

This picture made me start this blog.

As I looked through the pictures of our Los Angeles voyage in July 2007, I suddenly realized that all the clothes I was wearing that day came from different parts of the world and actually represent the turning points of my life. It all started from the red top.

My Armenian ex-mother in law gave it to me. My Armenian marriage did not last too long but it was very storym. After the divorce I moved from Los Angeles to San Francisco, where I met another man.

The relationships were not very calm either and after one of the "storms" I ran away again, that time to Buenos Aires. I spent a month there dancing tango.. That's when I bought my red skirt.

Then I collected myself, came back and we went to Europe together. He picked these red pumps for me in Florence. The green Gaetano Navarro jacket came from the same trip; after Italy we went to Berlin, where he showed me around. He knew Berlin well, as he used serve in the Soviet Army right before the wall..

Two months later we were in St. Petersburg, for my dad's anniversary. That's when I introduced him to my family and spent a lot of time together. We were walking the streets of St. Petersburg and came into the millinary and that's when I bought this hat. My dad suggested I got the borwn one. But he liked the olive one better. I still wonder whether I made the right choice..
